A Wish, A Hope
fragment · dec 2022
I don't know if I should wish for you or hope for us.
They say hoping is better, because for hope to exist there needs to be a mere possibility of that thing happening, so the chances of your hopes being fulfilled are higher.
When you wish for something, the only requirement is the presence of the desire for that thing.
And when it comes to you, they call you my wish.
But because you are my strongest wish, as if putting scales to one's wishes, I think you are heaved up to become a hope of mine.
And if the whole world was in my control, I hesitate not to create a world where the existence of you and me isn't just a mere possibility but an eternal verity.
Till then, I don't know if it's me hoping against hope or wishfully thinking — but you are mine.
And if we don't happen, you will forever remain my strongest wish.

“There is a difference between wanting something to exist and believing it could. This is the space between a wish and a hope.”
For the ones who live in the quiet space between wanting and believing.
a winter journal entry, written in the language of someone still learning how to hold both hope and uncertainty in the same hand. the heart that wrote this still exists, just quieter now.
